QR code business cards: design and print

A QR code business card is a normal card with a QR code that opens your page, so your details stay current without reprinting. To make one, build your link in bio page, generate its QR code, place it on a card with your name, and print it at a size that scans.

What goes on a QR business card?

Keep it to what someone needs in a few seconds:

  • Your name and what you do
  • The QR code, with a short label like "Scan to save my details"
  • One backup text line, such as your page address or phone number
  • Optional: a photo or logo

How do I make the card with zeroatom?

  1. Build your page. Follow How to set up a link in bio in 5 minutes with AI if you need one.
  2. Open the QR section for your page. Every page gets its own QR code, including on the free plan.
  3. Pick a style from the QR templates: business cards, table tents, counter signs, event badges, Wi-Fi guest cards and more.
  4. Download. You get a business-card image, a square image for posts, or a print page you save as PDF. The code itself comes as PNG or SVG.

See the QR code business card page for the templates.

Should I choose a static or dynamic QR code?

StaticDynamic
What it doesLinks straight to your pageSends scans anywhere you choose
Edit where it pointsNo, but the page itself can changeYes
Scan countsNoYes, shown next to page analytics
PlanEvery plan, including freeCreator+ and up

A static code keeps working while your page is live, and changes you make to the page show up for anyone who scans a printed card. Choose dynamic when you want to point the same printed code somewhere new later, or count scans. Creator+ is $12 a month as of 2026-11-05; see the pricing page.

How do I design it so it scans?

  • Contrast. Use a dark code on a light background. If your page colors are too close to scan reliably, the code switches to black and white.
  • Quiet zone. Leave a clear margin around the code. Do not let text or images touch it.
  • Size. Print the code at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide. Make it larger for signs and table tents.
  • Do not stretch it. Keep it square.
  • One code per card. Two codes confuse people.

How do I print it?

  1. Download the print page and save it as PDF, or use the card image.
  2. Print on matte or lightly coated stock. Glossy finishes can reflect light and make scanning harder.
  3. Print one test card first.
  4. Order the full batch only after the test scans.

Standard business-card sizes vary by country, so use your printer's template and place the downloaded card on it.

How do I test it before printing hundreds?

  • Scan the printed test card with two different phones
  • Scan from arm's length, in normal indoor light
  • Check that the page opens quickly and the main button works
  • Bend or tilt the card slightly to check it still reads

What happens if my details change?

With a static code, edit the page and the printed card shows the new version, because the code points at the page, not at the text on it. If you move to a new page address, a dynamic code lets you redirect scans without reprinting.

Where else can I use the code?

  • Table tents and counter signs for cafes and restaurants, see cafes
  • Event badges
  • Wi-Fi guest cards
  • Packaging inserts and posters

Quick checklist

  • Page built and published
  • QR template chosen
  • Name, role and one backup line added
  • Dark code, light background, clear margin
  • Test card scanned on two phones
  • Full batch printed

Is a QR business card better than a regular one?

It replaces the part of a regular card that goes out of date. Phone numbers, offers and links change, while a QR code that points at your page does not. Keep a printed phone number or page address on the card as a fallback for anyone who does not scan.

What should the page behind the code show?

People scan with a purpose, usually to save your details or reach you. Make those actions the first things on the page:

  • A save-contact or call button
  • Your booking or message link
  • A contact form, so people can write to you without seeing your email
  • Your website

Pick a card style from the templates that matches your trade. The templates gallery includes business-card pages with a large Scan to save QR and contact rows, in light and dark styles.

Which file should I use for which job?

  • PNG or SVG of the code: when your designer or printer builds the card.
  • Business-card image: when you want a ready design to send to a printer.
  • Square image: for social posts and stories.
  • Print page saved as PDF: for printing at home or at a local shop.
