How to get paid with UPI from your Instagram bio

To get paid with UPI from your Instagram bio, put a link in bio page in your profile and add a UPI pay card to it. Visitors scan a QR code or tap a button, pay in their own UPI app, and the money goes straight to your account with 0% commission.

What is a UPI pay card?

It is a block on your page that shows a UPI QR code and a Pay with UPI button. The button opens the visitor's own payment app on their phone, and the QR code scans from any UPI app.

How do I add one, step by step?

  1. Build or open your page. If you do not have one, follow How to set up a link in bio in 5 minutes with AI.
  2. In the chat, say "Add a UPI pay card so people can pay me", and paste your UPI ID when asked.
  3. Approve the change. The card appears in the live preview.
  4. Publish the page.
  5. Paste your page address into the website field of your Instagram profile.

Can I set a fixed amount?

Yes. Fix a price for a session, a dish or a tip, or leave the amount open so the customer types it. Pick a fixed amount when you sell one thing, and an open amount for tips and variable bills.

Does zeroatom take a fee on UPI payments?

No. Payments go from your customer's UPI app to your account. zeroatom never handles the payment, so there is no commission on any plan.

UPI itself is generally free for people paying individuals, but your own bank or payment app may set its own terms for business accounts. Check with them.

Which plan do I need?

The UPI pay card is a standard block on every plan, including free. The free plan costs $0 and includes 3 pages. See all plans on the pricing page.

What about customers outside India?

UPI works only with Indian payment apps. Add a backup payment link to the card, such as a PayPal or other https link, and it shows as a second button next to Pay with UPI.

Where does my UPI ID go?

Your ID is saved once as a page link, so the page code never holds it and you change it in one place.

Where is a UPI pay card most useful?

  • Tip jars for creators and musicians
  • Session fees for coaches and tutors
  • Counter and table payments for cafes and street food stalls
  • Advance payments for photographers and salons

Ready-made pages with a pay card are in the templates gallery, and there is a dedicated page on UPI link in bio.

How do I make payments easier on a phone?

  • Put the pay card in the top half of the page
  • Name what the payment is for, for example "Pay for your session"
  • Keep the amount fixed when you can, so there is nothing to type
  • Add a contact form or phone number for questions, so buyers can reach you if something goes wrong

How do I confirm a payment arrived?

Check your UPI app or bank statement. zeroatom does not see or track the payment, because it never touches it. For orders, ask customers to message you after they pay so you can match the payment to the order.

Quick checklist

  • Page built and published
  • UPI pay card added with your UPI ID
  • Amount fixed or left open on purpose
  • Backup link added if you have customers abroad
  • Page address pasted in your Instagram bio

What can go wrong, and how do I fix it?

  • The button does nothing on a laptop. UPI apps live on phones. Visitors on a computer can scan the QR code with their phone instead.
  • The wrong ID was pasted. Update the ID in one place and every card using it changes.
  • A customer does not use UPI. Add the backup payment link so they have a second route.
  • Payments are hard to match to orders. Use a fixed amount per product, or ask buyers to send a message after paying. The private contact form on your page keeps your email hidden while they do.

Do I need a business account?

zeroatom does not ask, because it never handles the money. What your bank or UPI app needs from you for business use is between you and them, so check their terms before you rely on the page for regular income.

Does the page work well from Instagram?

Yes. Instagram opens your link in a phone browser, which is the same device that holds the visitor's UPI app. That makes the tap-to-pay button the shortest route from seeing your page to paying you.
